Sarumpipity is located in a quiet part of Salisbury known as Stratford-sub-Castle. Situated in the valley below Old Sarum, footpaths lead up to the ruined castle. A cycle and pedestrian path leads into town, and Salisbury Cathedral. The rear of the property looks over the water meadow to the River Avon and the Stratford Nature Reserve.

Stonehenge

One of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe, Stonehenge is just a short drive or even cycle ride away! Here you can walk in the footsteps of your Neolithic ancestors, explore the ancient landscape on foot and step inside the Neolithic Houses to discover the tools and objects of everyday Neolithic life. Visit the world-class exhibition and visitor centre with 250 ancient objects and come face to face with a 5,500 year-old man.

Old Sarum

Old Sarum is a ruined castle, the seat of King John & William the Conqueror, formerly the first city of Salisbury and the site of the ruins of the first Cathedral of Salisbury. The site boasts 2000 years of history built into it's landscape, and is now managed by English Heritage. With regular events, re-enactments and even fly passes, Old Sarum is one of the most enthralling and historically important sites in southern England.

Salisbury Cathedral

For over 750 years, pilgrims have come to Salisbury to seek inspiration in the glory and peace of the building and surrounding Cathedral Close. Come to worship, to listen to the local choirs, or even climb up to Britain's tallest spire! Be awed by the beauty and scale of the Cathedral interior, or study the original Magna Carta kept here.

The Cartshed

The headquarters of the Salisbury and District Angling Club, (SADAC). For fly fisherman, this is the centre of the universe for fishing for wild trout in the pristine gin clear chalk stream rivers that meet at Salisbury. The Avon, Nadder, Wylye, Bourne and Ebble are classic chalk stream rivers that SADAC has miles of access to and offer fishing to over 2,200 members.

Stratford Nature Reserve

As viewed from the back of Sarumdipity, Stratford Nature Reserve is a stretch of river and water meadow owned and ran by the community, for the community. It is home to a wealth of wildlife and is the perfect place for nature walks, bird watching and even the occasional summer paddle!
